Choosing a Tour
Of course! If your partner in crime wants to join our adventure they’re more than welcome. All our tours are designed to immerse you fully into the culture of the destinations that we visit. We think even non-photographers would find this pretty fascinating. The only caveat we have is that this is first and foremost a photography adventure and any accompanying non-photographers would be required to stay with us at all times throughout the tour.
We understand if you want to leave it all behind for a bit and set out on your own adventure, in fact it’s what we live for. So if you want to travel solo, meet some great new people and share in some great experiences too there’s absolutely nothing stopping you. All our tours are the same price regardless of whether you travel solo or with friends. One price, no extra supplements. Find the details of our solo promise here
We will try our very best to cater to any dietary needs, that being said we cannot always guarantee it due to the remoteness of some of the places we stay. We will notify you if this is the case and work with you to come up with a fair solution. As long as you notify us of any requirements or allergies when booking your trip we will do our best to accommodate any needs you have.
We offer a wide range of tour types, from Adventurer, Explorer and Expeditioner each trip offers something unique and different for you to try. Whether you want to explore the history of a city while still having all the comforts of home, or if you’d like to stray far off the beaten track and explore the world our tours cater to all styles and tastes for adventure. You can explore our tour styles here.
We don't see age as a barrier to anything in life. Unfortunately legally there are some restrictions. For this reason we have to enforce a minimum age of 18 years old for all participants on the tour. As for an upper limit, it really depends on your fitness. These tours can sometimes require physical exertion. If you are at all unsure about whether you are fit enough to join us for one of our trips, please contact us directly and we will gladly give you tour specific advise.
We do, but on a trip by trip basis. Some tours naturally lend themselves to extensions, others not so much. Please consult the individual tour pages for more details on the extensions offered. If you would like to create your own personal tour extension, please contact us directly for assistance in doing so.
We do everything in our power to make sure out tours run smoothly, that being said there’s certain things we can’t control. Natural disaster or conflicts in the areas we travel may mean that we have to rearrange our plans and itineraries. However, we will keep a close eye on developments in the areas we travel and notify you if there are any issues or doubts.
Before You Travel

Yes. It is a mandatory requirement on all of our tours that each participant has their own travel insurance policy. We highly recommend a travel insurance policy that not only covers medical expenses and repatriation but also covers your personal belongings and liability. For more information on travel insurance and our suggested providers please visit our travel services section.

The world is rapidly changing, with more and more countries becoming connected by the internet. While we cannot always guarantee it most, cities and hotels have some form of Wi-Fi or internet available. Further off the beaten track there is almost no Wi-Fi or chance for internet connectivity.
There is also, depending on any phone you bring with you, mobile internet coverage in most urban areas with some coverage further afield. You may have to speak to your telecoms provider to ask about their coverage and any charges for use while abroad.
You could also pick up a cheap pay-as-you-go sim card before you travel or a local sim card at our destination (make sure your phone is unlocked). It is always best to check about roaming charges and costs while traveling.
Failing that you could always try and get a message though our tour leader and if for any reason your family needs to reach you they can go through Intrepid Exposures and we will make sure we get the message across.
Our information packs on our destinations will give you this information before you travel. You can also ask our tour leaders on the local customs and tipping.
The first thing to do if any issues should arise while on a tour is to ensure you are safe, after that contact the tour leader, if you are away from the guide you will be given their contact details and emergency numbers for while you are on the tour, use these numbers and the tour guide will do everything they can to ensure the issue is rectified.
